10 min. for Texans property rights

To our friends and relatives across Texas:
We'd like to ask for 10 minutes of your valuable time to help protect property rights for all Texans. Texas city governments are reaching out and forcibly annexing people into cities against their will! When these greedy cities' governments annex, expecially FORCED annexation, it dilutes and diminishes current city citizens' fire, police ambulance, street and bridge repairs, etc.
State Representative Anna Mowery has filed House Bill #323, which will give Texans the right to vote on whether or not they want to live in a city.
WE CAN CHANGE THE LAW - but not alone.

Please - take a few minutes to call your State Representative, and 2 other near-by State Reps., and simply tell them you're against forced annexation AND ask them to support and/or co-sponsor State Representative Anna Mowery's
House Bill #323 that gives Texans the right to vote on annexation.

------* This is a non-partisan issue! *------

Like Governor Perry told us - "If you're going to annex me, let me vote on it."

Officers Nominated at Jan. 15 CAFA Meeting

CAFA Members and interested Texans,

The 2005 CAFA Meeting was a great success.

Nearly 100 Texas Citizens Against Forced Annexation braved freezing temperatures and attended on Saturday Night to nominate officers, make plans to continue a 2005 petition (updating on site, check again Jan. 25) and letter writing campaign.
These documents collected from our members will be distributed to Texas Representatives when hearings are held in Feb, Mar 2005 for
HB 323 with Representative Anna Mowery.

2003's trip to Austin was a great success when we broke into small groups to cover every one of the 158 Representatives offices. That bill by Anna Mowery was effectively stopped in Calendar Committee. The Calendar Chairperson is Representative Beverly Wooley of Houston, but the vice chair that fought against CAFA will be not be in charge this year, and we should focus on the Calendar Members to get this piece of legislation to the House floor.

Please contact our Vice-Presidents to Join A Committee and contribute your expertise to our fight. We need YOU!

CAFA Mission Statement:
The mission of Citizens Against Forced Annexation (CAFA)is to seek rebedies to the unfair, un-American practice of involuntary, forced annexation in the State of Texas. Thank You Steve Hollern - for the good fight against
Ft. Worth Hotel, time, attending meetings, and expertise.
Thank You Dr. Byron DeSousa attending CAFA meetings
to personally get citizens comments and opinions to
take back to Citizens Advisory for Annexation Plan
(last meeting Jan. 19 at 4p.m. room 103A Ft. Worth

say you are going to city meeting to park free.)
and our newly elected 2005 CAFA Officers.
We know each of you will fulfill your duties
above and beyond expectations.

Thank you to Texans who care, but couldn't attend.
Many interested parties, including State Representative

County Commissioner J.D. Johnson, and many valued
citizens called ahead of time to lend their support although
they had a conflict of plans.

LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE IN 2005.
