Calendars Committee Addresses
79th House of Representatives

Hmmm.. Houston area has 5 Representatives of 11 members on Calendars.
The Woodlands can really help us here.
Thanks to James Manuel V-Pres of Legislative affairs for e-mailing updates from Texas Legislature Online
Keep reminding friends in low places and high places, relatives, inlaws, and even outlaws to write, call, e-mail, mail and fax these Representatives and ones near you to support HB 323.
Bill: HB 323 - Legislative Session: 79(R)Council Document: 79R 01485

Introduced 02/02/2005 H Referred to Land & Resource Management
Relating to a revision of the procedures for municipal annexation.
H 04-19-05 Committee report sent to Calendars
H 04-18-05 Committee report printed and distributed 08:34 PM
H 04-18-05 Comte report filed with Committee Coordinator

HB 323 text: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/data/docmodel/79r/billtext/pdf/HB00323H.PDF

A copy of the House Land and Resources Committee report printing of HB323 (which includes bill text, the committee's recommendation and vote on the bill, the bill analysis, the fiscal note, and other necessary impact statements and attachments) was placed in the post office box of each member of the house on April 18, 2005. The chief clerk then delivered a certified copy of the committee report on HB323 to the calendars committee for placement of the bill on the calendar for consideration by the full house.

Calendars committees are given wide discretion in scheduling bills for floor action.
We need to write all Calendars Committee Members to support and schedule this HB323.

The end of this legislative session is in May and last year the similar bill was "not given a date" on the calendar for consideration by the full house - during a late meeting Mother's Day Weekend. Please don't let this happen again.
Your letters to the Calendars Committee will show them they have the support to make the right choice to schedule a date for the Full House to consider HB 323. Calendars has 11 members and Committee clerk. Write a personal letter as an individual, and copy it for each member and Clerk. Each member address with Austin phone, fax, Dist. number, and counties represented: click here.
