Section B S-T 5/6/05

Star-Telegram
Airport - Top L, Sect. B Metro FW
"Dallas Mayor Laura Miller
finds her joke that

Dallas is set to annex Fort Worth
funnier than Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief does
at a news conference Thursday at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport."

Yes, we pick opposite the Star-Telegram Opinions page Elections / Recommendations, except Dist. 8 (Friday May 6 page 8B), but we still quote what comes out on our side.
Copy of Thank You letter to Mayor Miller of Dallas:
and copies sent to Mayor and Fort Worth City Council
Mayor Miller,
Thank you for bringing light to our cause. We appreciate your quip. FIGHTING FORCED ANNEXATION with Fort Worth has been ongoing over 3 years and fighting to overturn (or disannex) unhappy citizens across TEXAS has been a struggle.
Your joke repeated the Forced Annexation plight in the peoples everyday vocabulary. I had previously used the same analogy with Mayor Barr and the Fort Worth City Council about two years ago.
On behalf of over 10,000 county citizens, I asked the Fort Worth Mayor and City Council, "How would you like Dallas to Annex Fort Worth, knowing that their fire, police, and ambulance would take much longer to respond than our current great emergency services?"
These are the issues we bring up when testifying for the Texas House of Representatives, Land and Resource Management Committee - recently on Mar. 17, 2005. All residents should want to live where they have purchased land - in or outside of city limits - AND we should have a voice if the urban - rural line is moved to include us.
Thanks,
Darlia Hobbs 817-237-7972
CAFA President
